Envision Design Build is a new generation of building design firms. We specialize in creating designs that work – designs that can be built. We went from Design to Design-Build. Envision Design Build has been actively establishing itself in Houston, and the surrounding areas, including the Memorial Villages, Bellaire, West U, Tanglewood and River Oaks. We have been designing and building custom homes and creating designs for remodeling existing homes throughout the Houston and Galveston areas of Texas, since 1981. We are experienced in all arenas regarding homes and light commercial with our extensive design and building experience. With all our experience in designing and building custom homes, we also offer advanced construction management services. Whether your project is a large new home design, small remodel design or anything in between, Envision Design Build will listen to you, and create a design to fulfill your vision. Many of Envision’s new build and renovations projects incorporate aging-in-place features; in fact, they compromised 30-50 percent of the company’s work in some way, whether it’s installing roll in showers, special cabinet designs, flush thresholds or grab bars. In one case a two story homes design included a closet stacked atop another so the space could be converted into an elevator in the future if necessary.

MEET JACK KNOWLTON, AIDB, GMB, CAPS, GHBA REMODELERS COUNCIL BOARD MEMBER

All those letters behind Jack Knowlton’s name signify his passion for architecture, construction and design, and his commitment to excellence. He started out working at an architectural firm, then created his own architectural company with partners in the mid-80s. After building his own home in the 90s, he loved the construction side so much he evolved his business and became a full-service design/build company. About 10 years ago, he added remodeling services. Jack, who is known for his down-toearth personality, grew up in Memorial and has lived in the area more than 50 years. During his leisure time, you can find Jack riding his Harley Davidson or relaxing with his wife on the weekends in their historical home they recently purchased in Galveston.

Garrett Shaw

Garrett brings unprecedented value to Envision Design Build. Responsible for the day to day activity on the jobsite, Garrett ensures that the plans and specifications translate to the field and into our client’s homes. Garrett graduated from the University of Houston in 2015 with his BS in Construction Management. Starting as in intern for our company and then being hired on, Garrett has been managing projects for Envision Design Build for over 3 years and takes the lead on each project by effectively coordinating the subcontractors, tradesman, and laborers. Garrett is personally committed to each project, ensuring the building process proceeds smoothly through efficient planning and scheduling.”
